Day 331: Too Full For Dinner!

We had a late lunch in wine country this afternoon and neither of us could work up much of an appetite for dinner, so I cracked open a can of Progresso chicken and wild rice soup.

Since dinner was such a snooze-fest, I'll let you know about our lunch at Diavola in Geyserville. We had checked this place out shortly after it opened last summer and since we were in the area around lunchtime today, we grabbed the opportunity to enjoy their tasty pizza again. We shared two different ones - the Margherita and the Inferno. As the latter's name suggests, it was good and spicy due to the hot Italian peppers included in the topping.

Pizza is a real treat for me. I probably eat five times a year at the most. So when I splurge, it needs to be worth it and the pizza at Diavola surely is. If you're passing through the tiny town of Geyserville in Sonoma County it's well worth the stop.

Day 293: Back in the Jerz

I'm in New Jersey for a few days visiting family and with a hectic day today, we decided to order pizza for dinner.

We ordered two pies, with each half being different (clockwise):
1st half: pepperoni
2nd half: sausage with peppers and onions
3rd half: anchovies and garlic
4th half: black olives

All were tasty and I wish I could remember the name of the joint in Garfield that made them. I'll follow up with that via a comment below once I get that info from my sister!

Day 265: Splurge-a-rama

Late in the day, I had a 7:30pm meeting sprung on me.  Unsure if there would be food there, I bought this bag of Sun Chips and ate it on my way over.

Upon arrival, I was told there was pizza.  Who I am to resist pizza, one of my most favorite foods on the planet?  I rarely eat it because it's so high in fat and calories, but given the lack of other options and the fact that it was from North Beach Pizza, I was more than happy to splurge.

In summary, I had chips and pizza for dinner tonight.  Tasty and fun, but I'll have to be sure to make up for it tomorrow.  Bring on the veggies!

Day 135: Up, Up, and Away

Goodbye vacation, hello travel nightmares.  Two out of three of our flights from Key West to San Francisco were delayed and our luggage didn't quite make it but at least we had pizza!

Continental Airlines is one of the last airlines to provide free meals in flight and the food is damn tasty, too.  Bonus!

As you can see, our meal tonight was "The Right Cheese Pizza Pie" (I don't know what this means.  What is the wrong one?), an iceberg and cabbage salad, and M&Ms.  Oh yea, and a gin & tonic that I didn't have to pay for because we turned in a free drink voucher.

It's not a giant plate of steamed shrimp, but it was good.  And if they're going to lose anything, I rather it be my luggage than my food any day.
